Voltigör: Ponto for Swedish Youth

Voltigör: Ponto for Swedish Youth was made with Roberto N. Peyre for the show Obliteration Device, curated by David Burrows, at IMT gallery (London). The design was based on the voltigör petroglyphs of Bronze Age Sweden, the double helix, Ian Curtis’s dancing style, and Northern Soul arm spins. We developed a ponto for Swedish youth in response to the recent Right-turn in the European elections.

The design for the ponto was drawn in talcum and glitter on the floor of a contemporary dance studio in Stockholm and then erased by being danced on by myself and Roberto.
