DRG (Diagram Research Group)

The Diagram Research Group is an informal collaboration between myself, David Burrows, Dean Kenning and Mary Yacoob. It began during the Covid lockdown in April 2020 when we came together online to continue our ongoing discussion about the role of diagrams in art, philosophy and theory. Myself, Burrows and Kenning were founding members of DRUGG (Diagram Research Use and Generation Group) which operated from 2012 to 2015 and created the Plague of Diagrams exhibition and symposium at the ICA (London) in August 2015. Along with Yacoob were are all also members of SMRU (Social Morphologies Research Unit) at UCL.

In October 2020 we undertook the first Delta (Δ) Research Placement (virtual residency) at Flat Time House, London, the studio home of the artist John Latham (1921-2006) working with his archive. Our forthcoming, co-authored book Drawing Analogies: Diagrams in Art, Theory and Practice will be published by Bloomsbury in 2024.
