The Phantom Muse

The Phantom Muse is a experimental prose text written for John Russell’s Frozen Tears III (2007). Inspired by Giorgio Agamben’s meditations of the phantasmatic and spectral in Stanzas (1992), and taking Dostoevsky’s The Double (1886) as a found structure, the text reflects on the relationship between love, loss, melancholia and hauntings from a psycho-biographical perspective.
